VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
If you drive a GM vehicle 1995 to 2003 with a 3.1L or 3.4L V6 engine, you may want to read this!

These engines have an issue with the lower intake manifold gaskets going bad. And often times the head gaskets. This is a problem you probably have and don’t even know it. It is very simple for a mechanic to find and could save you thousands of dollars by detecting it early.

The gasket seals the lower intake manifold to the cylinder heads. It seals at the ports where air enters and where the coolant flows through. If these gaskets go bad, it will cause coolant to leak out of or INTO the engine. Either case is not good, but if it starts leaking the coolant inside, it can cause the coolant to mix with the oil which WILL eventually cause engine failure. We (mechanics) see this all too often, and its completely preventable. This is a simple repair for us to do, and it is DEFINITELY cheaper than a NEW ENGINE.

ALL OF THESE ENGINES I’VE SEEN HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM
HAPPEN SOONER OR LATER.

It is best to catch it right at the beginning, to prevent internal engine problems

If you are experiencing overheating or inconsistent temperature guage readings you probably are already close to the worst of it.

Please feel free to stop in and have it checked. The inspection is free of charge, and we will gladly show you the problem so that you can see it for yourself.
